Now that I've pulled my boat out for the first time in years.....
Kayak or canoe?

Canoe (they will hold an electric or small engine) = less work

I was thinking jonboat for the same reasons. Not to mention they don't capsize near as easy.

Jonboats give you room to fish and bring most of your stuff along.

Since I have a canoe, that will be my choice. In addition, your spouse can help with the rowing in a canoe.

but a kayak is much easier to go by yourself. Also, your spose can take it by her (I presume) self, too.

Man - can you imagine that Craigcat with a Cathouse motor? I will take a number on that Steve. Maybe we could use that new engine you were talking about that we can fill up at teh Dadeville sewer outfall pipe!!!

I bought a wide butt fishing kayak from Academy Sports and it has been fine and fun. You are just limited in the area you can cover in a lake this big. I have considered towing it with my center console but that is probably a litte too hardcore for me.
