Hey, Regulars! How does it look this Spring for floating objects? Have not been to the lake yet, but hope to soon. Maybe we will get lucky and get some rain to get the lake level higher--and safer!

Looks like we do need some rain down there. Seems the gas prices are rising faster than the Lake level.

I haven't seen much of anything floating free so far, but with the dry conditions, nothing is being washed into the lake. If we don't get some rain, the biggest hazards are going to be the rocks, islands and long points that are usually under several feet of water in the summer. The repair shops will be doing big business this summer as people "discover" that the places where they were running full tilt last year aren't as deep as they appear.

Be careful discussing the lack of rain and the water level. You will get slapped down for pointing out this problem too early in the season. Of course we have half the rain we should have this year and nothing significant in sight...It could get ugly this summer...Not bitter here, before it is suggested as I can dive off my dock already...

Don't knock the weather. If it didn't change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn't start a conversation.

Yes people always get excited about the water level. Next it will be the snakes. We have these same discussions every year. Several years back the water never got over 486' because of the drought. Snakes were few that year also. It was just too darn far from the water to the bank to travel to bite somebody. But you're right Bob. Just saying anything at all gives someone an excuse to stiffen their necks and blast you. Just enjoy what we get and next year will be better. Peace.
