Visited Arlington National Cemetery today with my daughter and soon to be son in law. Have been there many times, but a scene today brought its meaning into perspective. Each of those thousands of headstones represents a human being, and some leave behind loved ones who miss them dearly. 

I will try to rotate the picture so it appears right.

Like you, I have been there many times, and every time I am overwhelmed.  Something about seeing all those headstones, lined up and if your heart doesn't fill with a sense of gratitude, there is something wrong with you.  I'm sure you have been to funerals there, as have I, and when they fire those guns and the bugler plays Taps, the loss feels enormous.
