the customer was the wife of the Neurologist at Russell Hospital, Dr Steve Bryan; she was very depressed--and a friend--so i totally resent the  post about the "food that bad' ? the poster needs to get alife or leave the forum--just shows how unconcerned some are for others--

Nobody ridiculed. Just saying the way I feel. Why in a public place? I, like so many others, have been affected by suicide (many here wish it had been my own I know) and I would have asked the same question about them had they chose a public spot to do so.

LIFER--she didnt harm anyone but herself & she did it in the parking lot, there were no other customers there --owner who knew her tried to talk her out of it--sometimes some people get so depressed they dont think clearly_-and just so everyone knows, there is no food served there

Did I say she hurt anyone else.  NO.  But I could easily argue she did harm others if they were around, especially if they tried to talk her out of it unsucessfully.  That leaves scars.  I have a friend who still greives after many years over a friend who killed himself after hanging up the phone with her.  So yes, she harmed somone else.  Where is your campassio/concern for the living?  I simply wondereed why anyone would go out in public to do such a thing.

Nomenclature I guess is open to opinion.  Saying something is open to ridicule isn't the same as ridiculing it in my mind.  maybe i'm wrong.  Still baffles me why anyone would do such a thing.  Death by any means should be a private, family only thing to me, unless we are talking captial punishment for crimes committede.  Then it should be a public spectacle carried out quickly like in the days of yore.

I have lost a nephew, and several good friends to suicide.  Most people, when they get to that point, are in such mental pain, that they come to believe it's the only solution and a way out of the pain. Sometimes when people do it in a public place, or away from home, they want to spare their loved ones from finding them.  I doubt anyone that hasn't suffed depression to that point can even imagine what the person is going through.  As Hodja points out, they are not in their right mind, not using logic and good reasoning. When it gets to this point, they are not intent on making a public spectical - they are just desperate to end the pain. 

This woman is now at peace.  Her family deserves compassion, privacy and love. There are so many why's, what if's, and feelings of guilt on the part of the survivors and it takes a lot of time and understanding to accept what has happened.

I lost a nephew as well.  Sad thing is my sister and his Dad never "got it"....thought it was drugs....but the drugs were only the symptom. Really a sad loss.

I would like to agree with Hodja and Tallula. My little sister committed suicide about a month before her 17th birthday almost 20 years ago. "Logic" and right thinking don't apply in the case of a suicide, or else they wouldn't do it. It's a really terrible situation and my prayer is that no one experiences that, ever.
