I was listening to Fox News this Am and heard these two comments from Ken Blackwell, former mayor of Cincinatti and I think, Lt. Governor of Ohio. Statement number 1 was attributed to a president of a teachers union and I believe reflects the general attitude of educational unions in this country.

1. "I'll start worrying about educating children when they start paying union dues."

The second staatement was made while discussing poverty. Ken Blackwell is an Afirican American who came out of the projects and is a successful man due to hard work and not preferred treatment.

2. "The government does not owe us compassion - it only owes us respect."

I'm thinking about that 2nd statement. It's interesting and I don't know if I agree or not.
