Don't give a Shiite about Newt and Tiffany's. Couldn't care less. In my humble opinion, the only candidate who had a chance has already dropped out. Romney will be decimated by "Romney Care" and, rightfully so. Watched Cain on Fox last night and was totally unimpressed by someone I enjoyed listening to on Talk Radio. Wow, can't the Republicans come up with someone better than these babbling idiots?

thought Ryan already said he will not run.
What do you all think about Huntsman?
I'm still hoping there is someone out there that is a dark horse that no one is talking about yet. I understand that there is a behind the scenes push to get Christie to run.
I watched Cain's announcement speech and was not impressed. I honestly don't think Romney has a prayer -- not only for his health care track record, but also that he has run before and didn't do it. I don't think he done anything to distinguish himself since last time.

Newt, Romney and Huntsman are each insiders, and as such barely worthy of my trust to make decisions and lead us through the approaching tough times. I find Cain, and his business success appealing. Bachman and Palin are still saying the right things and as the media hates them, like they apparently hate all powerful women, has fully exposed and exploited EVERY possible rumor, can only go up from here. I have radar locked on Tim Pawlenty, seems to recognize and accept responsibility for past politically expedient decisions, appears unafraid to take on the status quo such as ethanol subsidies, and is incrementally articulating a vision for our future that is wrapped around individual opportunity. That said, stealing a worthy line, unlike 2008 when I had to hold both nostrils and vote R, not because the Republicans fielded a worty candidate but because the dems fielded a truly horrible man, I can willingly support any of those named above for President in 2012. Would I prefer a Reagan clone? That is for sure. Would I prefer someone wart free? Absolutely. Am I taking what I see as a realistic approach to halting the destruction of the US free enterprise system versus the current trotskyite collectivist system being implemented by Chairman O as I type? No doubt in my mind.

Yes "Dude," I did read your post. Unfortunately, neither of the 2 you mentioned has decided to join the race, at this point. So, in my opinion, what's the point of considering them viable candidates?

Unable to find anything other than a "considering". Would hope that if he does, his campaign is not modeled on 2008.

At this point in time it seems to me a 2-man race for the nomination between Pawlenty and Romney. Romney will have to better explain Romneycare but frankly if the key to beating Obama is Obamacare then he is not the right candidate. Pawlenty has all the charisma of a small soap dish and I need to better understand his actual stance on some issues. While neither are perfect both are a whole lot better than McCain.
Herman Cain is interesting and has a lot of great ideas and while he may have some appeal as the "outsider" he has answered too many foreign policy questions inadequately that he just may not have the experience. All the others are has beens or can't wins.
I really don't think Ryan will run nor do I think Rubio feels ready. Guiliani is making some noise about getting in but first of all, he isn't really conservative on anything other than crime and he has a sordid history that will be used against him. I just don't think he can get the nomination. There are a couple of other players that may pop up in the next month or two that could be a pleasant surprise but I wouldn't count on it.

Sorry Lamont, "Dude" was not a good choice on my part, however, comma, Ryan and Rubio are the only guys s that appeal to me right now.. Newt, I love, but he is in so much doo doo from his mouth and has soo much baggage, I don't think his 'dog will hunt' at this point.. So I'm sticking with recruiting Paul/Marco and fully realize it's wishful thinking on my part..

Not very impressed with the field yet ... but would rather have any of them than the do nothing, solcialist idiot that is in the White House.
Newt has the intellegence and would probably do a great job.
As for the Tiffiny's issue ... why would anyone, especially the media, care about that when they totally ignored and dismissed all the serious issues brought up about Obama.
Washington is broken.
The senate voted on the Obama budget yesterday and it was voted down 0-97 ... not even one democrat voted for it. So for the last two years Obama has not even passed a budget ... he wants everything his way or the highway.
I am moving in the camp to not raise the budget ceiling unless we get significant cuts in entitlement programs. Or go with raising the ceiling for whatever level of cuts Obama will agree to and keep doing this. Otherwise, don't raise it. Then we will get the cuts, because Obama will not be able to spend. This idiot needs a wake up call.

I was disappointed that Mitch Daniels did not get in. But I respect his concern and commitment to his family.
I think Chris Cristi could win, he is making tremendous progress in NJ ... a dramatic turnaround ... gee cutting taxes, bringing businesses to NJ through incentives, creating jobs ... all of which is boosting their economy and bringing them back from the brink of disaster.
He keeps saying he is not getting in because he is not ready and has more work to do in NJ. He has his eyes on 2016 ... but the country needs someone like him NOW ... we can not have 4 more years of this disaster.

I have always liked Newt. Of all the candidates on both sides, he is head and shoulders above on intellect however, his mouth keeps doing stupid things. So, the problem is,how do you incorporate Newt's ideas and intellect into another "viable" candidate without the stupid sound bites. I don't have the answers and, at this point, don't even see another viable candidate. Pretty disgusting in a nation of this size that we can't even put forth a challenge to the great deceiver.

I can only take partial credit for the soap dish crack. I heard it somewhere but about intelligence, i.e., he has all the intelligence of a small soap dish. Can't remember where I heard that but I apply it to all sorts of attributes when they are lacking. Does seem to work well for some doesn't it?

Newt has the smarts and was known to come up with ideas daily when he was Speaker. However, he is not a leader and his own right went after him. You need to read Tom Delay's bio where he is clear that he did not like Newt as a leader and worked to have him removed as Speaker. Newt needs another affair to make him a viable candidate. Obama in 2012.

Valid point.. let's hope that Newt has another affair and needs a lawyer in the divorce thing.. May he can hire John Edwards in the spirit of bipartisianship?? That's my concept..

Newt doesn't need another affair unless he wants to become a Dem, in which case it is a resume enhancer.
