NewsMax Article

A stunning Congressional Budget Office report revealing that the so-called $38 billion in budget cuts made last week will only result in $352 million in savings this year has touched off a backlash from the conservative grass-roots base of the GOP that could make future bargains that much more difficult.

No surprise about the response but I am a little more measured considering this is the CBO that said Obamacare would save money. You really have to examine the assumptions that went into the CBO numbers. For example, under Obamacare they assumed 10 years of revenues and only 6 years of expenditures. Complete nonsense but that was their charge and they blindly marched forward. All that aside, they have a right to be outraged considering what they were told during the campaigns ($100 billion), what was originally offered (zero by Obama and $30 billion by the GOP) and what they got (a compromise of an alleged $38.5 billion).

While I don't want grandma to starve, I did expect the cuts were going to be real cuts. $352million in real dollars is an insult. And, that is from someone who says OBAMA 2012.

Don't know you well, but do know you well enough to know that to expect anything more from you would be probable cause and I would have to go for a drug screen.

GF, its pretty depressing if accurate and makes me wonder if any of these clowns in the leadership from either party realize what we are doing to the future of this country? I am further incensed by the demagoguing by Obama and Dems in congress over Ryan's plan. If they have suggestions then make them and get to @*!%$# work and reduce the spending. They are just not serious and cannot be trusted with power. These clowns are making Bill Clinton look like an economic genius for having caved to the GOP-controlled congress.

It shall be interesting to see how the Republicans vote and if they have any defectors.

They defect at their own peril.  The American people are speaking.  Our elected representatives would do well to listen

These idiots act like they’ve never balanced a checkbook, never used a credit card, never made a mortgage payment, never made a budget based on income, and never had an allowance.  Successful behaviors such as these are as immutable as the Laws of physics. Break the laws of physics in your car – you have a wreck.  Break the laws of fiscal restraint – uh… you have a wreck!  DUH!

Do you mean the Ryan 2012 budget or the CR? If it is the CR there will be lots of defectors and it will only pass with Democrat votes. On the Ryan budget I think you will see party line voting in the House and Dems in the Senate doing everything they can to prevent a vote.

2012 budget. On the CR, I noticed that Rubio from Florida is voting NO which he feels makes him appear more Presidential as a VP candidate in 2012.
