I just heard a reason on Neal Boortz radio show why the US Govt. not pursuing the oil spill equipment used by the Dutch. The system works in that the oil/water mixture is taken in by a pumping system and through a process, the oil is separated and stored on the tanker. The water is returned back to the ocean.
So, what is the problem. The returned sea water has a small amount o oil. I don't know the contaminant level - ppm, ppb, 0.5%, etc. Anyhow, this apparently is unacceptable to the EPA.
Does this pass the common sense test? NO!
