Not ruling em out. But it is hard to argue against Philly. On their way to a 105 win season is just amazing.

I've lost touch with the Braves. I followed them in the 90's (and even got into the hype), but I've always much preferred football. I guess if they got some of the early 90's type "team excitement" going again, I would enjoy it and watch.... but after about 1996 (including the series that year), the team seems to be too much business and not enough spirit.

I have enjoyed watching the Braves this year--especially the last couple of weeks. They are playing good ball now but give up way too many early-inning runs....having to come from behind too much is frustrating. Gonzales is the BEST short-stop I have seen EVER...and I have seen a lot of great ones. Freeman is incredible in the field and at the plate...the new kid Constanza is a great addition to the club....pitching is very good..watching Kimbrell come in the 9th is pure entertainment! Add to that Uggla, McCann, Chipper, Prado and you have a very good club...probably not good enough to beat the Phils in the playoffs..but then again, who is? Having said all that, BRING ON FOOTBALL!

The Braves are looking good. 33 games left and 8.5 up in the wild card. I agree that Philly looks great with their pitching...but the Bravos are only 6.5 out and have 6 games left with them. I'm still holding out hope. The Braves remaining schedule is favorable. Uggla just hit his 30th home run for the 5th straight season and if all the bats come alive late they will have to be reckoned with.
But I am ready for some football and cooler weather.

Good analysis. Then again, didn't the Giants come into the playoffs last year as one of the "weaker" teams record wise? Seems like come playoffs, it's whose hot vs whose not. Would love to see the Braves in the WS again.

more like who has team spirit and a 'kid like" will to have fun and win...haven't seen that in the braves for 15 years, but if they get it back I'll be on their bandwagon again. I watched a good part of the game tonight (first one this year) after reading these posts and I still don't see it burning, but there may be an ember in there somewhere.

just listened to a post game interview with Heyward.....no team spirit came out of his mouth.
