Does anyone know the 'plug' date for Lake Martin this year? With the rains we have had in the last week and more forecast for the weekend, hopefully the Alabama drought conditions will not worsen.

With the current 7 ft drawdown, I believe plug date is March 1. I recently saw that the dam has two of four generators shut down and they have been running two continuously for days and the lake is creeping up.....'bout 7” so far. They can open spillways, if necessary, but that's lost electricity and cash.

It’s unusual for 2 to be down. They usually do maintenance in October but they normally take one down at a time.

Yep, surprised me too. I got that info from an APCO filing with FERC.
