I am getting ready to reinstall my Green Monster. I plan on putting it at 16ft but, am wondering if that is too deep.

Looking for a little input. We want to attract fish but, also want the light to be bright.

PS: Hoping to hear from UPSMAN. His is TOO BRIGHT. We love driving my at night seeing it shine.

Thoughts?

How is the boat??? If it is good, bring your Green Monster to Cathouse so I can put it in the pond. I need to see what is down there.

I have a sunken 175 W street light at about 8' - very bright - lights up the cabin about 70' away. I cannot go any deeper without throwing off the end of the pier - the boss says not allowed.

Boat is great. Just like you said tho, had to tear carb down and clean it out and after that no probs...

Told my wife Tuesday evening as we were riding I need to change the oil.

Thanks for all you did and hope to see you coming thur Shady Point in the CatBoat...

Da, Burglar

Ours is right at 15-16ft deep and it works like a champ. Throws about a 15ft circle of good bright light and another 10ft of not so bright light. We have a huge catfish hanging around the light now. When he swims over the light he blacks it out.

I seem to recall the Green Monster Web site used to make some recommendations as to effective water depth.

My Green Monster is down about 10 feet, and it does pretty well. My 400 W Metal Halide (sp?) rig is at about the same depth, and it gives off a yellow glow compared with the green glow of the Green Monster 175 W mecury bulb. Its glow is about twice the diameter of the Green Monster, but the Green Monster does seem to attract the larger fish for some reason.

Both really bring in the fish, and like another poster stated large fish can actually momentarily block out the light.

I havent even put the G.M. in the lake and the GFCI is already tripping. Worked last year. All I did was disconnect old wire rom transformer to light and connect new one for longer power cord. Hmmm, Started raining and lightning so I quit for the day.

I haven't been specifically told, but I suspect my wife would prefer that mine would go a little deeper.

I don't have a long enough tool to measure how deep mine goes.

Every time I try to bump mine on the bottom, the bumpers on my dock shake.

Truth be told, I need to take my green monster out of the barn more often and actually place it on the bottom.

Every time I try to put my Green Monster on the bottom, the bottom keeps shifting and I never hit it.
