Can anyone give me some suggestions for getting rid of some birds that are nesting in my pontoon boat. Would a fake owl or fake snake do any good?

I had that happen a few years ago and we just let them stay (The nest was in the corner under our hard top). It was funny when we went for a cruise....Momma bird would follow us around while the babies sat in the nest and went along for the ride. As they got older, one of the babies learned to fly on one of our cruises. He did fairly well until he got tired and landed in the water, so we had to rescue him. We put him back in the nest and he stayed there for the rest of the ride....as far as I know they all survived, but they didn't attempt to nest there again the following year.

We have birds nesting under our pontoon every year. As noted above, we take them for rides all the time and they don't seem to mind. Hopefully they are eating bugs down by the dock in barter for rent!

As long as they clean up their poop.. i don't see any problems.... I would like to see the parents chasing the boat down the lake, however! : )

We have a nest currently, the only problem is the occasional 'dive bomb' attack by the Mom when someone is fishing off the dock!

I have found that a .22 takes care of most bird issues. It also works well for armadillos.
