Looks like the other person besides Muller that the left hoped would take down Trump has some issues of his own that will probably get him a perp walk before any of the Trump family. Charges have also been filed for wire and mail fraud in California, and I saw a few reports of a bank fraud charge in Mississippi - may or may not be related to charges from California.

Funny while CNN in that article does mention Mark Geragos they do not mention that he "was" a CNN legal analyst.
When Stormy wsa reached for comment " I am saddened but not shocked by news reports that he has been criminally charged today."
Not sure how much more good news I can take this week.

This is what happens when you are desperate for money, which we know was the case with the creepy porn star lawyer. His life was cratering all around him and it appears he made a flailing attempt to solve all his financial woes in one fell swoop by trying to extort Nike. But here's what I don't get. The Revs Sharpton and Jackson, the SPLC and other activist groups have been extoring money from corporations for decades. How come all the sudden Avenatti is getting indicted for doing this? I assume that it must be because Trump colluded with Nike (ya know, cause they are big supporters of his) to entrap the scumbag lawyer. /sarc off
What is more interesting is his so far unindicted co-conspirator Mark Geragos, the Hollywood lawyer and cnnBS contributor...er, um...."former" contributor. Why the heck would he be dumb enough to get entangled with an obvious scumbag lawyer like Avanetti? Makes no sense to me unless he was just being greedy or Avanetti lied to him about the case.
As a final note, anyone that follows college basketball like I do understands the scam show going on with the shoe and apparely companies and the AAU. Went to a talk by a Div 1 college basketball coach and he pretty much admitted that since they weren't a Nike program that all the Nike sponsored AAU players were pretty much out of reach for them. I knew about the program but was shocked to learn that a Nike AAU kid would never go to an Adidas college. That struck me as patently unfair.

May also be why several higher ups at the SPLC have been fired/decided to leave recently - that their versions of "legalized extortion" is about to come under a microscope. Doubt it, but you never know.

I think we all know why Al and Jessie can get by with extortion.

SPLC's history is pretty sordid and the founders were clearly in it for the money (they are on record having said so). Liberals are fools and their money separated but SPLC served a constituency very well and the govt media conspired to hide their partisanship. Nunmber of lawsuits by entities included on their list that I hope will be successful. They certainly have the money to pay them out. They have over $100M in overseas accounts and much more domestically.
Interesting week so far, and except for Goofy trying to change the subject, the usual crowd of left wing nuts are pretty quiet....understandingly so. They must be going through the five stages of grieving although I doubt many will get beyond denial. I can only imagine they would be wall to wall if the Mueller report said the opposite. And we would have been pretty quiet, although not AWOL like them. Archie in particular must be really butt hurt given his prior claims that collusion was a done deal. All the signs were there that collusion was a dry hole. Had there been collusion, the lower level indictments would have been for something other than unrelated and process crimes. Andy McCarthy at NRO has been pretty clear with this observation for over a year. Typical prosecutor would nail the underlings for the underlying crime and get them to roll on the big wigs. Of course, collusion isn't even a crime but I am sure the 13 Dem operatives on the Mueller team would have figured something out.

Smollett gets off with community service and forfeiting his $10K bond. Nice deal if you can get it. Apparently the CPD wasn't consulted. Prosecutors feared riots if this went to trial.

And it's about time. I read the charging document and he was in the very middle of this, acting at times as a go-between with the Nike lawyers. He wasn't fooled by Avanetti, he was completely involved. The first thng I would do if I were them is to ask for a change of venue to Chicago.

The Mayor and CPD are completely PO'd about this deal and have called for a Federal investigation. And the scumbag Smollett is actually claiming he was truthful. This is going to be fun to watch. If I were some gay black perp in jail right now I'd be asking my lawyer to get me the Smollett deal.

best part is the person who made the deal was someone who had recused herself from the case ( and had already attempted to get it moved to the FBI as a Obama favor )
Based on that I have a feeling that the Obama holdovers in the FBI will probably not perp walk him for sending himself hate mail. she was probably hoping to have it handled by the same team that handled Hillary's server matter.....

Archie took a five month hiatus from this forum once before...10/28/16 until 3/8/17. Trying to remember what happened during that period. :-)
