Saturday Night, August 4, 2012 was a very disappointing night!  With no power and no water on Castaway Island, we decided to go to Wahoo Grill.  Last time we ate there we had good service, good food, and good prices. LAST NIGHT, BAD SERVICE, BAD ATTITUDE, didn't make it to the prices.  Arrived around 7:20 PM and the wait to be served was about 20 minutes.  No Problem, waited on front porch which was cool after the shower.  Party of 8 was seated but had to wait another 10 minutes for drink order.  At that time, a kid's meal for a tired 6-year old and an appetizer were also ordered.  Drinks were served, then we waited, and waited, and waited.  Around 8:45, 55 minutes after the drinks were served, no refills on water, no drink reorders, NO FOOD, not even the kid's meal that was asked to be "rushed."  The chef, cook, or whatever he was, dressed in his muscle shirt, was asking other customers about their food and we explained our dilemma of waiting nearly an hour with no food.  He explained our situation to the owner who came over to our table with some excuses and told us if we did not have food within ten (10) minutes, our meal would be FREE.  Well, I set the timer on my phone and we waited.  5 minutes, 7 minutes, 9 minutes, then here comes the kid's meal, but the tired and hungry 6-year old had already gone to sleep some 45 minutes earlier, the appetizer, barbequed shrimp, that were dry and overcooked, and an order of French fries, that we had not ordered.  Another minute passed, the timer went off on the phone (remember the food in 10 minutes or it's free from the owner) but no other food and looking into the kitchen, there was nothing being cooked.  As we walked out of the restaurant, without being served in over 1 hour and 20 minutes, we think that the waitress did not turn in our order, we got only excuses from the owner, no apologies.  However, the cook or chef (the one in the muscle shirt) did give us 3 "complimentary meals" that turned out to be coupons good for 10% off on our next visit.  Not sure I'll ever go back.  If you decide to go to the Wahoo Grill, good luck.

Don't worry they'll fold after Labor Day. Amazing that some people think they can run a restaurant and don't have a clue. Been there once, won't go back.

Had lunch August 12, grilled shrimp, yellow squash, zucchini and mushrooms, cold beer to wash it down with. Forgot to mention - Old Bay and olive oil on the shrimp, Italian dressing on the veggies. I did use the electric starter for the lump charcoal in the Primo, but if power had been out, I have some starter cubes. Probably should say - I cooked on the deck overlooking the lake... I have a very low tolerance for poor service or delays, so have a very short list of acceptable restaurants - Wahoo will not make the list with reviews like this..

So did this happen last night (August 11) or August 4? Your post says both.

We rode past Wahoo's this Saturday going to a friends house and at 6:15 there were 2 cars there.  I told my husband it must still be as bad as it was when we tried it months ago.  Glad to know I haven't been missing out on anything!

I went there about two months ago. Ordered sea bass. It was the only thing that was not fried. When it came it still had ice crystals on the inside. Sent it back, the second time it came out, it was "served" by a greaser in a guinie tee and a butchbitch. It looked so bad I would not even touch it. I handed the waitress my credit card when she returned she said she was leaving. I signed the ticked and gave the waitress a 20 in the parking lot. WON'T BE BACK !!!

I posted on the 12th but the Night from Hell at the Wahoo Grill actually took place on Saturday, August 4, 2012.  It's ashamed that the owner of the grill is also the owner of the property.  She is the one that run off the Green Valley Market, that was a great alternative to lake front dining and had great meats to grill at home.  Some people will never listen and never learn.

"greaser in a guinie tee?" "butchbitch?" I see racism and homophobia continues to thrive among some. Though I do wonder why other people have been banned for posting things that are far less inflammatory.

Greaser is not a racial epithet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greaser_(subculture) Not sure what a "butchbitch" is but I think I can guess.

From Urban Dictionary: guinea The most vile racial slur that can be used against an Italian-American. Refers to the Guinea Coast of Africa; using this slur is a very offensive way of implying that Italian-Americans are non-whites (something we tend to get very defensive about!!). Unlike the "N-word", which African-Americans sometimes use to address each other, no Italian-American would ever address another Italian-American using this word. Nor would they use the word "wop" (also offensive, but not in a racial way). HOWEVER, it IS common for Italian-Americans to refer to each other as "dago"; this is used the same way that blacks use the N-word with each other. Again: MOST VILE RACIAL SLUR

...."Regularly, homosexual demonstrations are given the wholesale endorsement of the news media. People who abhor the practice as immoral are dubbed "homophobics" as though they now should be the ones in hiding. So now the evil of homosexuality has been surpassed by the evil of "homophobia." To be opposed to homosexuality has become the sin rather than the homosexuality itself. It is no longer enough for homosexuality to be legal -- it must be given moral approval.".....

I had no intention of implying that anyone involved in the incident referred to above was either Italian or a homosexual.

I was just saying that a dude was wearing a wife beater shirt and the woman that  was with him looked manly.

I have no idea of the sexual preferences or national origin of either of those people.

Myth,  don't believe every thing you read in urban dictionary,  I put a lot of it there.

As far as Italians disliking the "guinea tee"  phrase,  I can't speak for all of them but my first encounter with the expression was a group of Italians who made up an intramural basketball team at a private Catholic College.

They called themselves and had printed on their uniforms "GUINEA TEES"

The Irish team was the "MIGHTY MICS"  and the drunks were the "J&B BOMBERS"

"Fat Ralph" Lanciano was the leader of the Italian team.  He was from South Philly and a golden gloves boxing champ.  His standard Italian joke was

"What is black and blue and floats in the Schuylkill River?"

People who tell Italian jokes.

Ralphie still is a good friend.

I am nearly out of space on my sleeve for all of the labels assigned to me over he last 4 years. Lets see, we have Right Wing Extremist, Racist, Potential Terrorist, Bitter Clinger, Tea Bagger, Homophobe, Xenophobe, Granny Killer, and a few others I can't read without pulling my shirt off. I am well beyond caring what the "sensitive" types think as they, their sponsors, and their politicians, are attempting to build a new world that doesn't include me or mine. They can all KizmaAnuice. Wait, does that mean I am not homophobic?

My point in placing the "homophobe" comment was not to accuse anyone of being one or implying that anyone had referred to somebody as being a homosexual. The intent was that I can't stand the whole concept of "political correctness". Big brother with the help of the media have really done a great job in turning a lot of our country into lambs who can't think for themselves and merely mimic what they have been brainwashed into believing.  The point was to say that if I don't agree with the practice I have the right to say so without being given a label and facing consequences.  The military for example has become a proving ground for this concept.  Let a military member get caught making a statement about his/her disagreement with the lifestyle and watch that members career take a quick dive for the worse.  We are slowly losing our ability of free speech and the right to have our own opinions.  I am personally tired of tip toeing around and being "sensitive".  I want to be able to have my opinion and say so in public without being assigned a label or being put in jail (which is probably what will happen in ten years if I choose not to hire a pedophile for my day care center).

I understood, understand, and agree wholeheartedly. The atheistic thought police attempt to label all who disagree with their cause of the moment as a hater by applying distorted definitions, and in their opinion, I have earned my stripes.

It's not about what you believe or how you feel; it's about how you act. You can be the biggest racist in the world and it won't matter... until you start tossing around the N word. The consequences of your beliefs will be addressed in the afterlife (if you believe in it.) The consequences of your actions will be felt while you're still alive. So if someone doesn't like being called a racist, they shouldn't use racial epithets; if they don't want to be called a homophobe, they shouldn't use language that displays homophobic tendencies. And in no case should they MAKE SUCH JUDGEMENTS BASED ON APPEARANCES.

So you have the right to dictate what people should think and express? You have the right to rally support by throwing the "homophobe" word out there? What makes you think you have the right to judge anyone's comments? You preach not to be judgmental but you are doing that very thing. Looks like the people who made the comments that you replied to with your "racist" and "homophobe" labels have spent time trying to justify and clarify what was said. I think you might want to practice what you preach.

Having said all this, I still contend that you have the right to say what you did.  Be thankful (right now anyway) that you are allowed to type your opinion.  Just don't try to play the moral police will ya?

Every human on earth is a racist to some extent. If you feel a preference, expressed or not, toward or against any individual not of your ethnicity, you are discriminating; therefore, in your world you are a racist. As far as being a homophobe, I submit that the vast majority of humans are either homophobes or hetrophobes.....personally I'd prefer to be known as a homophobe, if in your world everyone must be tagged. Is there some reason you are so concerned about the sensitivity of blacks and homosexuals?? Go pick a fight you can win.

Clearly you missed to point and are not addressing what I wrote. In none of my posts have I singled out a race or implied somebody had to have a label. In fact I advocate the opposite. I addressed a specific term "homophobe" which has been planted by big brother into our society as part of the hidden agenda to brainwash the masses. Knowing someone close to home was mimicking the term made me throw up a little in my mouth. As if everyone should embrace the lifestyle and if not you are given a label. If they want to get up to that sort of thing keep it to themselves but don't shove it down my throat or force me to let one take my children camping in the boy scouts. If you want to see the lifestyle in all its glory may I suggest you book a week in Disney World with your children during gay week. Our country has become Disney World. Try watching Andy Griffith, the Walton's or Leave it to Beaver for a week. Would be like going to a health farm. Then the following week just watch Big Brother, Survivor and pretty much any of what the media offers and you may be able to see the negative influence they are planting into your (and your children's) minds.
