Pell City Marine Unit Notification:
Last night the PCPD Marine Unit was notified of a vessel that was partially sunk near the area of Berkley Slew and Eagle Point Slew. The vessel was reported to have been yellow in color and had the registration numbers removed. The vessel was said to have been submerged and only 6 inches of the vessel was showing above the service.
Though it was storming and raining in the area, the police searched for the vessel and it was not located. A SONAR search was conducted this morning by the Marine Unit to no avail.
Please be cautious if you boat in this area or down river of this area since a submerged structure can prove hazardous to navigation.
If you know anything about this boat, or spot it, contact the Pell City Marine Police at (205) 753-3817.
Thank You!
