What do you think will be the most wild an crazy thing to happen Saturday. Nothing morbid or dirty. Just good ole redneck "watch this" kind of stuff. Winner gets a free ticket to the Alan Jackson concert Sat. night! I just hope it is a safe weekend.

Sounds like you might be in the wrong place. Rednecks are all around you. Do you know that?

would be a nice image to attempt to change since we are in the 21st century, & Ala ranks about 49th in almost every category

seems like the most immediate impact you could have would be to change your alias to say, Harvardalum and move to Detroit??

I have a brand new 1951 Maytag Ringer Washer that I use to make PJ. You do this by putting 5 gallons of grain alcohol and five gallons of grape juice and two bags of ice in the tub. You turn it on and let it agitate for 3 minutes.

I am going to put it on my pontoon boat and make up a batch. Then we will put it in drain mode, which works the wringer and pumps the PJ out the washer drain pipe.

People line up to drink pong style from the drain pipe. If we are lucky, some of the babes will get their bikini tops caught in the wringer.

surprise--im really an AU grad ; my comment is meant to show this event is an excellent venue to profile a positive image of LM & ALA as a whole; there will always be those who want to maintain the old image of trailers & barefoot kids

Am I the only one who doesn't want to be anywhere near this thing? Too many boats in too little space, too much alcohol in too many captains, music so loud that you can't avoid hearing it even if you don't want to, etc.

Even if the potential for disaster isn't realized (and let's all pray for everyone's safety, even if the odds are long that it's a mishap-free weekend) the annoyance and aggravation will far outweigh the fun.

Of course, I'm only a property owner who has been on the lake for more than a half-century now (and spending money that whole time), so my concerns are far less important than those of the people who will come here for this weekend only, then return to wherever they are from.

Cool, there are some states behind us. I moved here to become a redneck. My training according to my friends is not quite complete. I stay away from the fireworks but am looking forward to this. Daylight.

This is a once in a lifetime thing. I have friends comming from NYC and LA to Kowliga!!! because of this event. And by the way, the one from LA traded two front row tickets to see Alan Jackson at OC amphitheater for a plane ticket here.

WE ARE ALL GOING TO HAVE FUN. AND WE ARE NOT A BUNCH OF DRUNKS. SOME OF MY FRIENDS DRINK, BUT I HAVE NEVER AND WILL NEVER HAVE A DRINK, I HAVE TOO MUCH FUN SOBER.

What else is the TV world going to think. Look at it from there point of view. A concert on a lake in Alabama with Alan Jackson headlining. Sounds pretty redneck to me!!!!

Wouldn't be caught dead there, mostly for reasons you mentioned. But I do plan to be having fun on the water, because I think that parts of the lake will be nice and empty for a July Saturday.

For a guy who claims he doesn't drink, you sure go to some extremes to produce massive quantities of alcohol.

Hint: if you need a washing machine and gallons of grain alcohol, then yes, you and your friends are a bunch of drunks. There's fun, and there's excess.
