Subject:   Power to Bilge / Livewell Pumps
Date:   4/26/2017 2:15:18 PM

Hoping for some assistance.   At first, I thought maybe I had just burned my bilge pump out....but now I have noticed my pumps for filling the livewell have no power either.

2007 Tracker Avalanche.   I have checked all in-line as well as fuses under the dash - all are in order.   Curious if anyone has any other ideas.  All of these pumps are located under the tray of batteries...so if I need to switch them out, it will be a nightmare.

The shop where I take it for motor maintenance quoted $500+ in labor.  The work would not be too technically difficult....however, I lost my opposable thumbs, and a few other parts in Iraq...so some tasks are certainly more difficult for me.

I'm hoping someone may have some other ideas before I attempt it...or if anyone can refer me to a good, affordable on the water mechanic who may come and take a look.

Thanks in advance!

If you were on Lake Martin I could help with the labor. I would bring my helper that I pay $10/hr to do the hard part. Unfortunately I can't help on Lanier. If you left your thumb in Iraq I would consider it an honor to do so. Since that is off the table I suggest you call Steve at Cathouse Marine in Prattville. His number is 334-657-4349. He will be able to help diagnose the problem. I don't think you need new pumps. For more than one pump to go out at one time is highly unlikely. I suspect there is a fuse or relay that you have missed somewhere. If you don't have a schematic try searching online to find one. Service and repair manuals for about anything can be bought relatively inexpensive. Good luck.
