Lake. DH and I went to lunch yesterday at Christophers. The food was great, the service was good. It was a little surprising that there were only 2 other parties in the place. On the way out, we passed a party of about 8 older gentlemen headed in.

I noticed that Oskars parking lot was packed as always, so it's not a lack of business in the area. And frankly, I didn't find Christopher's prices to be a lot higher (and they do have a nice lake view). It's not an "all day" menu -- they actually have a lunch menu -- but it appeared to me that they have enough choices to make anyone happy. The guy at the next table had a steak poor boy and it looked huge.

What would be nice would be a way to boat there. Most boats don't go under the bridge too well. If there was some arrangement where you could go by boat, that would help out. Being on the other side of the lake takes 30 minutes to drive. By boat is only 10-15 minutes. I can't be the only one in this "boat".

Have eaten at Christopher at Lake Martin 4-5 times. Their lunch menu prices are reasonable and the food is incredible. Also, the lunch items are on the dinner menu for those of us trying to watch our budget. Order a cup or bowl of their gumbo ... or their poboys ... or their burgers. On Sunday, they have a brunch buffet that includes breakfast and lunch items. Last Sunday they had Fresh Salmon, a carving station with prime rib and ham, two types of chicken, boneless pork loin, vegetables, great salad choices and much more. The desserts were blackberry cobbler, pecan pie, cheesecake, and bread pudding. Brunch is $14.95 (the salmon and prime rib alone worth well worth this price). The service was great! Some dinner items are more expensive, but are excellent. The owner/chef, Christopher, is very talented in his profession. See you tomorrow for brunch!
