I had them service my Malibu last fall so it could be put right into the water in the spring and run. When I got the boat out for the season the instrument panel would not work. After trying everything I could think of I went back to Steve and demanded that he help me get it working. This resulted in a very snarky text from him with three words......kill switch, lol. Of course I knew it was the kill switch......I was just testing him......yeah, thats the ticket........and he's really lucky he passed my test cause I would never have used him again for service on my boats.......a test...yep, that's what it was......
Then he tried to repeatedly call and rag on me but I was conveniently out of cell range. My wife accused me of being a wimp and not taking my abuse like a man but Steve does not need this kind of fun. It would be bad for his stomach muscles as he might pull one laughing at me. I was really looking out for his well being and not avoiding my own well deserved humiliation. Who puts a kill switch on a boat anyway?!?!? What the heck.......

I will always standup for a Conservvative who finally admits he is a "dumba$$ from Atlanta". Kill switches cross racial, religious
and political parties. I would like to have a dollar for everytime CAT has tried to start an engine and forgot the kill switch. It happens even to he left.......just not as often.

I must confess to what started out as a very nerve racking situation on Saturday morning Memorial Day weekend. After cleaning my pontoon boat of mold and mildew, I put in a fully charged battery and tried to start it for the first time since it was winterized last fall. After several attempts with no signs of the engine firing, I became frantic. The fact that I had family and friends who were planning on a boat ride a little later in the day only made the situation worse. I tried removing the filter from carbuerator and spraying in some carbuerator cleaner to no avail. I made a quick trip to Blue Creek Marina to see if it would be possible to get one of their guys to come check it out. When I explained my situation to the guy in the service department, he started asking some questions. Was I sure I had a strong battery, did the fuel gauge show I had gas, etc. When he asked about the "kill switch"", I said "OH SH-T". Since I am 74 years old I guess I can blame it on old age. What started out to be a hectic morning was quickly resolved and all enjoyed a great day on the lake. What was a little ironic was that my daughter-inlaw came down when my son and I was trying to get the engine started. She had pulled up on her i-Phone a list of things to check when the boat engine won't start. Not once was anything mentioned about checking the "kill switch".

Thanks Buteye, I appreciate knowing I am not the only one that didn't think about the kill switch. I do like both our happy endings although I could do without the angst I create for myself.

We used to laugh about our neighbors calling us that when we were doing something stupid at the lake house. I agree that stupidity knows no boundaries and we all have our moments.
