Had a FB friend post one of those articles about Donald Trump being a liar and a fraud and the other usual stuff. So I took those words and inserted Hilary Clintons name and asked the poster wasn't the same true of Hilary? We then got into a discussion about the merits of the Demoncrats over the Republicans with the poster saying that Democrats favor the lessor members of our society, while the Republicans are only for the Rich. So I pointed that almost all member of Congress are Millionaires and Hillary Clinton is herself part of the top 2%. The poster said, but Trump will raise taxes and I replied that Hilary will too and what exactly is "rich" and how will Clinton define it. I allowed that while the Democrats used to represent the working man, coud she in fact name one thing that Democrats, specificially Obama had done for the working man? and in fact could she identify anything that Obama had done for the working man, outside of Obamacare and the mess it has turned out to be.
So then she said "I'm not going to argue with you. I made an educated decision about who I will vote for and that is what I am going to do!!
I really can't understand why Hillary supporters get huffy and angry when I start to drill down on exactly what is going to be done for the mythical working man that Democrats look out for. (She'll probably unfriend me now, as a couple of other people have done).
I use the same tactic on the anti gun people and it usually ends up about the same. (and a couple of other people have unfriended me because of that too.)
I really don't mean to be obnoxious, because I am always interested in how people come to the conclusions they do. It's kind of a hobby of mine.
I asked another question last week - about how poeple have become rabid dogs about this election, and the nastiness that falls from their brains into their fingers onto FB. So I asked if anyone thought that these people would go back to being the sane, pleasant people they used to be, or having let that guard down and everyone seeing how they really are - would they just stay out of the box.

At least you always preface these references with Facebook friends. These poor little snowflakes of today think those cyber friends are actually friends. Boy are they gonna have a rude awakening someday when they actually NEED a friend's support through some crisis.

Liberals react to differing opinions with anger. Apparently they have no ability to engage in cerebral debate.

that most liberals do not analyze situations, they simply spout the opinion (talking point) as it is fed to them. When you challenge them to think and analyze they become defensive because they know they didn't analyze. Wonder where our three dimokraps are....they're defensive and embarrassed.......Goof is very subdued now because he is realizing he is riding a dead horse.....

You are right. They are cyber "friends", not to be confused with people who are really friends. I am friends with some of them too, on FB, but they know me and so even when we disagree, they don't get huffy. A lot of my FB "friends" are people that were on another cat forum, but have migrated off. They are not people I will ever actually meet and some of them I have known (in a cyber way) for years. I would say 98% of them are for Hillary (don't know if cat ownership and Democratic leanings are a "thing"). I find it so interesting that if I post something pro Trump, they are all over me; and if they post something about Hilary, and I even barely suggest something counter, they get angry and upset.
It's not actually like their vote or my vote will be the deciding vote, but people really get viscious.
People are actually funny - if I post something pro University of Alabama, the Auburnites go crazy. But the truth is, I'm just as happy to see Auburn win as University of Alabama and when they play each other, I'm just happy if they have a good game. I didn't go to either school, and at the end of the day, it is still just a football game. I felt as bad about what idiots have done to the trees at Toomers corner as any Auburnite - one because it is a tree, and secondly, I think it is nice when schools have traditions, even if they are not my tradition.

How dare you post something pro Alabama FB!..
just kidding - I like a good game myself. Root for the other team when they are not playing each other. Alabama/Auburn football is probably about as divisive as this election.
I can remember starting at a new grade school after we moved - You for Alabama / Auburn? Well you just suck, national championship this, they cheated that. ahhh the good ol days!

It's funny for me, because I had never given football a thought before I moved here. And the first 2 years I lived here, I woud read a book during the games. But I had a FB friend that was a rabid Auburn fan (she actually went there) and she was living in Massachusettes, and wouldn't give me any peace preseason, until I bought her a couple of SEC periodicals. Then my husband started talking to me about the games and the next thing I knew, I was watching. My sister often asks "who is this woman and what did you do with my sister".

Game over! Great series. Also, just saw where several foreign governments may have copies of Hillary's classified emails. She is like a cat with nine lives and I hope this leads to number nine. Maybe we will eventually be able to say that "truth" TRUMPS 'lies"

Yup the SEC is like politics on steroids. Once it gets you in its grasp it is hard to get out of its way. Have several friends from areas where its like that with basketball and when they moved and were attacked for not caring about Alabama/Auburn football there were all WTF!

It's actually just as bad in Washington DC with the Redskins. IN their glory days, when Jack Kent Cook still owned them, every night there would be updates - even to what they ate in preseason camp. Tickets were precious property in divorce settlements and handed down in families.
I actually enjoy all the hype around Alabama and Auburn. It's conversational currency. Even in my art class we talk football.
