but ignore sicky wixie.  My point (which you actually know of course) is to try to get some of you guys to make a statement expressing your opinions of the persons "in" and the persons "out" at CPAC.  Mr H would prefer Sarah Palin or Gov Christie in the wheel house of our ship of state?  Really...I would love to know.  If you prefer Christie, do you have any concern that he is now apparently considered unworthy by one of the most prominent GOP policy groups.  Guess he shouldn't have been civil to the president of the US or accepted Federal dollars after part of the state he leads was washed away.  And then there is the Donald!!!

Frankly I don't really care about the political theater, When it comes time to vote in 2014 I will vote to keep our incumbent republican congressman, not necessarily (with emphasis on necessarily) because he is outstanding, but because I can trust him to fight the travesty who sits in the White House right now. If either one of our Senators is up for re-election I will vote for them as well....although if some electable republican were to put up a good primary fight against Shelby, I would most likely vote against the king of pork. I WILL vote for the republican nominee in the general election. I just can't see how, in good conscience, any thinking patriot could look at what Obama is trying to do to our nation and think it is good. If you think it IS good, then you and I will be on opposite sides for the duration. With its admitted flaws the America pre-Obama was much better than what it is now and especially what he would like it to be. And now Holder says that it would be legal for the president to order the killing of an American citizen on American soil just because he said so. My God, what has come of due process? If you believe that, then I guess it is within the rights of any American citizen on Americamn soil to decide that Obama is an enemy combatant and render the same "justice" to him. Disclaimer. I hate to have to say it but I must because of the f'ed up world we live in: I, in no way, advocate the assasination of the President.

Gee archie, all the individuals you want to be so critical of have all been far more successful than you, and have accomplished more and created far more jobs that Obamer ever has. Maybe it is time for you to look in the mirror and realize it is you that is out of touch.

Here is a suggestion ... you and Jellyfish should hold hands and walk in to the sunset convincing each other that your socialist, liberal, progressive vision is the right way even though the facts do not support it.   Let me remind you we are on year 5 of your party's failed policies that have given us continue 8% unemployment, record energy prices, record increases in health care costs, record number of people in poverty and on food stamps, record deficits, record debt, a debt downgrade, and no budget.

You should be so proud of the accomplishments.

But I am a little disturbed   "I WILL vote for the Republican candidate in the General Election."  Does that apply to ALL offices? How could a guy with as much common sense as you make such a statement of iron clad assurance without as yet knowing the candidate of either party?  For president and all offices I think  will wait and see.  Knowing what I know now if it is Christie vs Clinton I am not sure...Christie vs Biden it's Christie in a heartbeat (speaking of "heartbeat" sure wish Christie could slim down a bit).  Now will you at least say who you would PREFER to have the chance to support...Christie or Palin?  Would  vote for Palin or Trump over any possible democratic opponent no matter who???

Now, do you want to post a reasonable reply to a reasonable post or had you rather continue your tantrum??

BTW:  Based on yesterday's DOW and recent corporate earnings reports,  Obama is a miserable failure as a Socialist!!

If you are disturbed, it is of your own making. It is pointless to discuss one vs the other until such time that they are competing in a defined race. I believe I've told you before that I don't do hypotheticals when it comes to politics. And yes, in the 2014 congressional elections I would vote for a Republican over a Democrat, even if that Republican were individually inferior to the Democrat. The stakes are just too high on the national level.

Hint, it does not stand for liberal, socialist, moderate or communist.  Archie, it stands for conservative and it only stands to reason that they will invite people that are actually conservative to the conference.  But the Republican tent is much broader than just conservatives which is why people like Christie and other moderate Republicans had prominent speaking roles at the convention.

I mean really, how many pro-life, pro-business, strong national defense Democrats have been invited to speak at a moveon.org conference?  How many pro-life Democrats have spoken at the Democrat convention?  This is the way it works for movement-oriented conferences.  It is an opportunity for like minded people to gather and exchange ideas and information.  There are lots of other forums for exchanging opposing ideas.

I'm not sure why that bothers you so much.  I would never lament moveon.org leaving a conservative Democrat out of their meetings....I would expect it and think it was reasonable.  Thats of course assuming you could actually find one.......which these days is pretty doubtful.

I knew you would come back and say that ... but even you are smart enough to know that id Bernake money supply policy to artificially keep interest rates low as he increases the federal reserve balance sheet with fake dollars.  He can only do that because the US is the reserve currency ... can you imagine what would happen if that status is lost?

The federal reserve is doing what they are doing as a strategy to force people to invest in equities giving them no other alternative in order to create a wealth effect and that will hopefully stimulate the economy.

It is not a bad short term strategy, but the problem is that Obama failed policies are offsetting the good that the rising market is creating.   Can you imagine is Obama actually led what could be accomplished?

Would you rather have a high stock market fueled by federal reserve easy monetary policy or a high stock market fueled by low unemployment and growth in the economy, which results in lower government deficits?

You choose.  Because Obama's policies are antibusiness, wants higher taxes and thinks the way you help people out of work is to increase handouts rather than growth the economy and create jobs.

You need to take your head out of the sand and face reality that Obama's policies have failed for 5 years and will continue to fail unless he is willing to work with those that understand how the economy actually works and jobs are created.

I always go back to the point he had free reign his first two years to put in place anything he wanted.   And he did ... and what do we have to show for it ... still 8% unemployment, huge deficits and rising, higher poverty, higher number on government assistantance, etc ... and still rising.   HIS POLICIES DO NOT WORK. If they did the results would be different.

Look at what they have said and done in the last year. It's no mystery to me and frankly had they been invited it would have been strange. Neither has governed as a conservative. That is not to say that what they have done wasn't politically expedient, it just doesn't qualify them to attend a conservative group's meeting.

Change the word "would" to "will". I know what you are thinking because I realized the error in wording but let it lie (lay?). At least you have the intelligence to pick up on that. Why don't you use it in some useful manner instead of all of your angry and futile attempts to win arguments here?

He IS invited and today strongly questioned why Christie wasn't.  "I just don't understand what CPAC is anymore."  He went on to say the CPAC board was narrow-minded and not open to even listening to new ideas.  Wonder if Newt will be booed off the stage...assuming he isn't dis-invited before midnight.  Now I am no particular fan of Mr Gingrich who is as pompous as Trump but he has a lot better brain.  As one Newt supporter said "Newt has a thousand ideas a day and occasionally a couple of them are good ones."

BTW:  Is there any possibility that what they have done was practically expedient as well as politically expedient.  Would you and your neighbors reject Gov't assistance if a level 5 tornado devastated L Martin?

MrH, he really is fixated on this for some reason.  I really don't mind because it allows me to point out that he worries so much about the sliver in the conservative eye while ignoring the plank in the liberal eye.  He holds conservatives and the current administration to an entirely different standard and I am getting as much of this out so when the GOP again controls the WH we can see the hypocrisy.
