I have visited Smith Lake a couple times, but for very short trips only. I'd like to bring my boat up from B'ham this Saturday and was wondering if there were any good restaurants on the lake that we could dock the boat at while we eat. If so, where would the most logical boat ramp be to put in and cruise around a bit before eating?
Thanks for your info.

..only a few restaurants on the lake.
-The one I like the best is the Lakeshore Marina. It is on the western part of the lake near Double Springs. By road it is on hiway 278 between mile markers 47 and 48. It has boat slips where you can dock your boat then walk up to the restaurant. It also has a boat ramp to launch from. It also has motel rooms.
-On the Eastern side of the lake is the Angler Restaurant which I hear has really good food, but I'm not sure you can pull a boat up. Maybe others on this site will know.
-Near the center of teh lake is Big Daddy's at the Duncan (Blue )Bridge. There's also teh Duncan marina there for launching boats.
-Good luck and good boating.

The Angler isn't on the water. Good food though.

On that side of the lake the only water place is the Hitchn Post at Ryan Creek Marina/Big Bridge. There is a launch there, and you can dock. Assortment of food, haven't been much.

We had a great time - thanks! We ended up putting in at Ryan Creek Marina, rode for awhile, and then came back and ate lunch at the Hitchin' Post. We were kinda in a time crunch, so this was the closest access to I-65. The food was good, although the restaurant is small so it was crowded at lunch. The weather even held out for us.

Thanks to you and turnipgreen for giving me the ideas and information. It was greatly appreciated!
