Several of the boats on Leisure Island (In front of the Sail Club by Dam) had there gas tanks drained. It happened between Wednesday night and Saturday morning. They actually removed the cover off of one jet ski and drained the tank then put to the cover on to make it appear normal.

Thats not far from me. I'll have to ask around and see if Treadwell island residents have had any incidents.

I have been pulling my Sea Doo's out of the water at night, seems like more mischief this year than past. Better to take an extra 15 minutes than be sorry. But I have a launch nearby so that makes it easy

I noticed yesterday on my ride up to choccolocca creek that a boat in a bright yellow boathouse on the Talladega side had the cover pulled away from the back left corner of the boat. I wondered if that was evidence of someone stealing gas up that way. I was up past Powells ( Talladega side ) when I saw it and wondered. I figure if someone notices that boat is out of gas this may give them a timeline. Heck for that matter I'm not even sure if the tank on that boat is on the left side.

I can't prove it, but I think somebody siphoned my pontoon boat at Stemly Bridge. But since the boat isn't running worth a flip and I think most of the gas was water anyway, they probably did me a favor. A couple of years ago, somebody swam up and tried to steal gas from it. My son caught them. In broad daylight! On a related note, folks down on Martin have been stealing gas and filling gas tanks with water so people don't notice right away. They see the gauge shows full and they don't think about it till the boat won't run. There might be a thread about it on the boat maintenance forum. Peace, <>< TC
