I'm always amazed at the number of "boat captains" that have no clue of their stupidity. Last night on our annual fireworks cruise, I saw 3 boats with 2 green running lights on the front. I counted over 20 boats with 1 or more running lights not working. But the best was the 3 boats without any working lights.

While I was watching the show south of Stemly, I heard a boat coming upstream. Something with a big block motor. He was moving on pretty good and there were well over 100 boats out there. He slowed down, maybe idled around a little while watching the show, then took off again, wide a#? open! The water cops got up just north of the bridge. It was pretty amazing. I hope everybody had a great Fourth. TC

Just as a reminder that you shouldn't travel with your docking lights on. I don't know how many boats I saw last week with their docking lights on and these over shadow the red and green lights. The water patrol will stop you for this. ( Don't ask how I know.)  But you are corrrect there are many that don't go by the proper rules of boating.

Docking lights also destroy your night vision and takes a few minutes to regain it. I understand the "be seen" mentality, but it's just not cool.

The boat my sister was on had no lights. people need to respect the waters and fellow boaters.
