Looking at the Photo Gallery Section...where is the big rock located?

Also, what time of the year is the best to kayak down the Sipsey and Brushy in the forest?

I'm going to take a guess here... sorta.

The distance between Bailey Bridge and Rock Creek Marina on Rock Creek is about 3 miles... so I'm gonna guess that is is about 2 miles or maybe a little more south of Bailey Bridge - before Rock Creek Marina (which would be on the left). The Rock Island is on the RIGHT side of Rock Creek heading South. The lake is about 506 right now so I'm guess that it is almost completeley submerged. Be careful out there on a boat when the island is underwater only 6 inches. If you slam into it - it would probably not make for a good day. LOL.

Yep, west side of the wide area NW of the marina. About half mile as the crow flies.
Top is at 512', if I remember that right, and disappears from sight easily if the lake is that high.
Something like 35 feet to bottom under the rock overhang, too, again if I remember right. So not real deep when that picture was made, but like many places it drops fast out from there. The other side between the island and lake shore is much less steep.
There's a concrete boat ramp on the shore other side in that photo, if anyone reading here happens to be out during high water first time there you'll know the island is a few hundred feet SE from that. No marker buoy.
Don't know about kayaking. Is that like hiking on water? I'm kidding.

The best time is in the spring. You can put in the the Sipsey River Picnic area and take out where 33 crosses the Sipsey or put in there and take out where 278 crosses Sipsey, the 2nd run is a long run not sure of the miles.

On Brushy it is a little more difficult to find put ins and take outs. Maybe acessible by 278 ??? and the nearest take out is the public launch area by the Hwy (Houston/Arley Road) 63 bridge
