Some of you may have already seen the article but thought I'd share it with those who haven't. Nice article about Lake Martin and Chuck's Marina (and Greg & Jane). BTW- pizza is now open on Fridays 4 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays 11 am to 9 pm and Sunday 11 am to 7 pm. Starting in June it will be open weekdays 11 am to 3 pm. Live music on Fridays and karaoke on Saturdays beginning the first weekend in May. Sure was nice news to find out so I wanted to share.

Where are all these hotels they refer to, twice? The only one I know of is the new bed and breakfast going up at the Cove. At least that is what I heard it was last week, before that i heard it was a conference center. I guess it could be both.

Kowliga was named years before Hank sang about it.

I'm not sure about the motels either unless the writer is refering to the one's in Alex. City. Or maybe he thought some of the condos were actually motels. You'd be surprised how many people really think Hank named Kowliga. It's like how surprised some are to find out they didn't really jump off Chimney Rock but instead Acapulco Rock.

When Kowaliga was named wasn't the question; whether or not the wooden Indian AT Kowaliga inspired the song was; here's the quote that started the conversation:

"Always heard the wooden Indian was the Hank Williams inspiration for the song."

But it seems that we are the only two who realize that.
