Apparently both the House and Senate have now passed bills to make daylight savings time permanent. There are a few states that already don't participate in this twice yearly event and aroiund 15 states have voted to change but can't do anything until Federal law chnages. For once, Congress does something useful as I think most people detest the time change....I know I do. So at this point the options are for the two bills to go through the reconciliation process and then another vote on the combined bills or the House or Senate adopts the other's bill and it is sent to the President to be signed. No idea what Biden thinks of this but it is a popular change. The Senate bill would become effective in 2023.

The Senate vote was unamimous. When does that happen? But never underestimate Biden's abillity to screw it up.

Right? :-( I guess we will know what the teacher's unions think of this shortly based on whether he signs it.....assuming it reaches his desk.

Always hated the tine change when I was working, but being retired, it doesn't matter all that much either way. The dogs seem to love the "spring ahead", but don't like it when time Falls back. I always thought the time change was do to agriculture, but found out it was simply a "thing" with no real rationale. Biden would probably rather issue an EO.
