Puzzled about lake alerts

I'm signed up for lake level alert emails at lakesonline.com and it's been working well. In July, I received an email from Alabama Power wanting me to sign up with my email for a "new alert system" at apcshorelines before August 1....well, I missed the date. Anyone know what the difference is? Why would I need both alerts, or is the lakesonline alert going away? Is one better than the other? Thanks.

Probably a different site. The only one I get is from this site or fro LMLPA. And I think LMLPA 's is piggy backed from APCO

a couple of weeks ago someone sent me a screenshot of APCO new app - that may be what you are seeing as new but not sure.
