Looking for a very good recipe for a vanilla base ice cream that can work with a 2 quart freezer.

Our traditional recipe is getting a little boring, that being:

- Half and Half

- Eggs

-Sugar/vanilla/salt

-Condensed milk

???

Wish I could help, but ice cream requires measuring and when I cook it's by "feel". I will be watching to see what is posted. Maybe for Ice cream I could learn to measure. :-)

Looks like you will have to stick with what you have or go to Baskin-Robbins.  :-(

Yeh Buddy. This forum really rocks with good ideas and activity, right?

Just got a new Cuisinart 2 quart ice cream maker and wanted to try a new recipe. Just made one up.

- Quart Half and Half

- Pint Heavy Cream

- Half cup sugar ( maybe less next time)

- 4 whole eggs

-1 Tbsp vanilla

- 14 oz can condensed milk

Mix all in bowl with mixer. Pour in top of ice cream maker while it is running. 25 minutes later add crushed berries, cookies, candy bars, peaches, etc and mix for 2 more minutes. Transfer to a freezer container and freeze for another 2 hours. Eat.

This is NOT a healthy food product, but is for sure good....

Add 1 1/2 tablespoons unflavored vodka to the final mix before freezing. The alcohol prevents the ice cream from getting rock hard and renders it way easier to serve. Bourbon works too, so you can call it Bourbon Ice Cream....
