I'm having a wedding at the Church In the Pines in Kowaliga and am looking for a place to have a wedding reception. I grew up around Lake Martin, so I really want the wedding reception to be on the lake. However, it needs to be large enough for dancing. So far, I've struck out. Does anyone have any ideas?

I went to a wedding at The Church of the Pines on Saturday and the reception was at the Willow Point Country Club. Very nice!

Not sure about these locations as to a Wedding Reception. But might be worth a call.

ditto...a friend of mine did the same thing several years ago. Willow Point had a room with the football game on, there were about 5 food stations, huge dance floor, and stage. I believe there was well over 100 people there. =)

I am sure it did, I spent my time at the bar. I suggest you call them and see what they can offer.

not sure but I think you have to be a member or have a member sponsor to have reception at Willow Point.

I have been to a reception at the Children's Harbor, it was nice and would seem to be better set up for dancing. Plus it's across the road from Church in the Pines.

Kowaliga (Sinclair's) Restaurant might be closer but you also might have more wedding crashers try to come in on your free food etc. Would be worth a call to them, though.

Went to a large wedding a Church in the Pines last fall. Reception was at Sinclairs. They used the private dining room for a bar and the food (food was outstanding). Had a tent outside with another bar. Also had a band and a dance floor set up outside. The weather was great and the happy couple left by pontoon boat.

you also might have to know someone to sponsor you for the Ridge Clubhouse, but it is really nice, would be good for a reception, and is pretty close to C.I.T.P.

How about Scrushy's lake house? (if he still owns it) He might be able to use the money these days :)

I agree with using Sinclair's. I was in a wedding 3 years ago at the Chapel with the reception inside and out of Sinclairs. It was very nice. After rehearsal dinner was also at Sinclairs. Bride and Groom left the reception by boat.

If it's an afternoon wedding, receptions at the grounds in front of the Hank Williams cabin with dancing in the gazebo is really nice.

I got married on the other side of the lake three years ago and had my reception at Stillwaters. We had a band and dancing. They did a fabulous job I do know that Willow Point requires either membership or a member sponsor.

Have you considers talking to the Elks lodge off of hwy 280? They must be set up for catering and dancing I would think. It's on the water as well.

I think the Harbor House at Children's Harbor is a lovely place for a reception. Depending on how many people you have there it is a great location. There is plenty of room for a band, a dance floor, and all of the food, gifts, drinks, cakes and all of that inside. Then a wonderful porch outside with a great view of the lake. If you want to leave by boat there is a great long dock that you can board by. The Main office has a list of caterers that do a great job.
