I remember all of the bad experiences discussed on here last year. I went tonight to see how they were doing. It appears their was an explanation from last year that I, maybe I am the only one, didn't know. The owner came out to greet me and, after I had ordered fried shrimp, told me he wanted me to try his new dish that I had passed on---barbecued shrimp, wrapped in bacon with homemade barbecue sauce....very, very good. I will get it next time.
It seems the owner was in a motorcycle accident last year and had to turn over running the place to someone else. He was not happy with the change to "mostly a bar, rather than a restaurant" and was very unhappy with the stories of awful service.
I am starting over with him. The fried shrimp were very good, with slaw, hush puppies and fries for $14.99 (I believe). The service was excellent. A very pleasant, efficient lady who was wanting me to enjoy the meal.
I always hope and pull for locals to make it and I will be back soon. The owner wants very much to establish a good reputation. To me, he is on the way.
