I've been retired for 11 years (took an early retirement) and I can't think of a day I haven't had plenty to do. Now you can take your coffee cup outside and watch the sunrise if you are up or the sunset. Or you can wander to the local Hardees or other fast food place for breakfast where the other senior congregate. I read a lot, so I do that, and I also paint some. My dogs take up a lot of my time, so if you don't have a pet, you may want to consider getting one. They are always up for a trip to Home Depot or Tractor Supply. And you will have time for a hobby or learning about something you have always been curious about. One of those things for me, was WWII, and I catch shows on the History Channel and read books. As you get older, you realize how much you don't know.
My husband retired 4 year before I did. It was tempting to load him up with Honey-dos, but then I remembered that he worked long and hard not to have someone assigning tasks, so I go easy on him. Now that you are retired, whatever you don't get done today, you can do tomorrow.
Congratuations, and welcome to the next phase of your life.
