In addition to the initial cost issue there is another issue any forward thinker will consider before buying the EV.....have seen estimates ranging from $25k to $28k as the cost of replacing the batteries when they first ones go blank.

Also, is it not true that the EV loses anywhere from 25% to 40% of its power in the cold winter time??

All that not withstanding......I continue to think all libs, dems and progs should go out and support the Chinese strategic materials industry and buy them as soon as they come off the assembly line.
