Two interesting aspects to this....who will open and who will come. For sure I'm not going to take my 87 year old Mom to a restaurant. As for take out, we have tried to do that at least twice a week and I am encouraging our employees to do likewise. Granted it doesn't generate a lot of employment but it does keep the lights on.
Some of the states that did not lock down certainly have major cities much bigger than Cobb county but not as big as the Atlanta metro. Oklahoma City is a good example with a metro population of 1.25M. The state never had a lockdown and have less than 3,000 cases and 164 deaths.
This is indeed a terrible time and it will hopefully continue to improve. Here's hoping Kemp has it right and people will follow the other guidelines. If they do I suspect we will not see a spike in new cases even with the relaxed rules.
As for the Wuhan virus shot, it will likely not be available by this fall. And unless its widely available they need to prioritize the elderly and those with other conditions that make them more vulnerable to hospitalization.
