Hound, it wasnt my intention to provide all the data that suggests we may be headed into a recession. Anyone can go onto the internet and read the prognosticators of doom and gloom and their basis for being so bearish. My intent with this post was to discuss the potential political implications if indeed we do exerperience another recession before the 2016 campaign, which I think is more likely than not.
I do agree with you completely about the right GOP candidate being able to beat Hillary although I suspect we will not agree on who that is. I would want a true conservative that can communicate and convince the unwashed masses in the middle and you would probably prefer someone else, but I'm just guessing. I do strongly believe that if we have a McCain/Romney type far too many conservatives will sit at home and we will lose again like the last two cycles. I will not be one of them because I am always for the lesser of two evils and understand that it is not a perfect world. But there are lots of conservatives that don't think that way and are willing to lose on principal. Its sad to say but true.
I don't agree with you that she isn't a lock to be the nominee. But then again, I thought the same thing in 2008 so you never know.
