Lack of self-awareness would lead a non-self-aware person to believe that they are, in fact, self-aware. You clearly lack self-awareness, and you're unaware of the fact. The first step towards the solution of a problem is to recognize and acknowledge that you have it. You haven't yet reached that point, but there may still be hope.

By "benefitted," you mean "didn't always get screwed over quite as badly as before." If you've convinced yourself that people of color get anything approaching equal treatment in this country, you're not only a racist, you're a tragically deluded one.

Uhh, I haven't lived IN Alabama for 37 years, although I do maintain contact with friends there and visit occasionally. You're really reaching, and you're digging your hole deeper with every stretch....
