George Orwell was a prophet when he wrote 1984.  Let us add to the long list of newly defined words the term recession.  We've already redefined marriage, woman, vaccine and so on....so why not recession?  Cause we are in one right this very second and the 2nd consecutive quarter of negative GDP growth will be announced on Thursday.

So how to they prep for that bad news?  They change the modern, accepted definition of a recession.  And I quote from the White House website with my commentary in bold:

What is a recession? While some [yeah "some" as in pretty much every mainstream economist for the last 50 years] maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle [this is what is called a bold-faced lie]. Instead, both official determinations of recessions and economists’ assessment of economic activity are based on a holistic look at the data—including the labor market, consumer and business spending, industrial production, and incomes. Based on these data, it is unlikely that the decline in GDP in the first quarter of this year—even if followed by another GDP decline in the second quarter—indicates a recession.[this is what is called in literary circles foreshadowing....they know we had negative GDP in Q2 and are trying to get ahead of it by changing the definition of a recession by weakly attempting to cherry pick....oh, um, I mean use a holistic view of the economy to tell us that like inflation being transitory...recall that one left wing nuts?....do not believe your own eyes and ears and let us try to convince you that 1+1=3.....because we changed the definition of 3. 

I can assure you with 110% certainty that if Trump were President the headlines would be screaming RECESSION!!!!!!  THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!  TRUMP MUST RESIGN!!!!!!!!!!! IMPEACH FOR DERELICTION OF DUTY!!!!!!

Ya see left wing nuts like Goofy and the others......this is what is important to the American people.  The economy, inflation, interest rates, the stock market collapse, cost of housing, shortages of baby formula, an invasion of our southern border, skyrocketing crime in Democrat controlled cities, national security and the potential for a broader war in Europe.....not men pretending to be women, not whether Hispanics are tacos or enchiladas, not whether states can decide on abortion laws, not the latest faux pandemic of rump rangers, not Globaloney and certainly not what happened on Jan 6, 2020.  But y'all keep focusing on things that don't matter to the American people.
