"Interestingly the recent acquittals were bench trials and not jury trials.  Tells you everything you want to know about their faith in a jury of "peers" in DC.  Most of them understand quite well the jury pool in DC and would rather take their chances with a judge.  Can't say that I blame them."

Get your facts straight......you make no sense. There will jury and  non jury trials. What's your problem with that?
