your or some other Conservative's alternate plan. And saying the system isn't broken is not an answer.
Here is the problem -- the Administration has come up with a plan - and since I have only heard the cost, not the outline of the plan, I'm not going to make a value judgement yet.
But, I have yet to see ANYONE come up with another plan. We can't just stick our heads in the sand and say "leave it alone". Where is the debate? Where are the alternative plans?
My BCBS plan which I carried into retirement is going up double digit percents every year. So I have great coverage that is costing me more each year. And the reason it costs me more is because the uninsured keep showing up at emergency rooms every day to be treated, where they can't be turned away regardless of their ability to pay. Go to an emergency room one night and see who is there. And then there are those that get hit with huge medical bills and end up filing bankruptsy. Those of us that pay, pay for them too.
We just had 8 years of a Bush Administration that ignored health care. Didn't even try to come up with a plan, government or private run.
I don't want a government run health care system any more than you do. But, unless someone comes up with an alternative that is going to cover the uninsured, that's what we're going to get.
And by the way, neither Feb or I drive a Prius. And even if we did, I'm not sure what it would have to do with the health care crisis.
