If they walk in and see someone dumping rounds into a bathroom doorway and do not see the actual shooter - I hope training does kick in and they dont shoot and kill the wrong person.
My comment is based on discussing things like this during active shooter training that was hosted by cops they said put the gun away as quickly as possible/hide it or you will probably get shot also if you are firing a weapon in a public place or in some cases after major loss of life even being NEAR the weapon.
I know many well trained cops who probably would not mag dump someone protecting others, once they figured out what was going on.
But there is also some officers who no amount of training can slow them down. I had one who wanted to write me a speeding ticket for 30 over, wreckless and evading when I was doing the speed limit, chased me down and actually wrecked the cruiser and almost ran me off the road. She screamed she was going to arrest me - thankfully dash cam took care of all of that(before cop dash cams/body cams) My word(and my dash cam) agaist hers. Sometimes its the authority, cant do wrong, Im right and your not - or possible just see what they want to see. She was not a member of that PD shortly after.
Thankfully her superior who showed up on the scene was very interesed in the video.
YMMV
