I agree and am going with divine intervention here.  Reminds me of a story a friend who served in Vietnam tells about the very same topic.  They were clearing a Catholic Church and heard noise in a dark alcove beneath the altar.  He was getting ready to spray it with gunfire and he felt a hand gently lower his weapon.  When he looked in there were about 30 Vietnamese women and children praying the Rosary.  He credits that hand that lowered his gun as the Blessed Mother.  Every time I hear him share that story the hair on the back of my neck comes up.  I believe in divine intervention and this one may be another great example.
