I rather changed my opinion of him after yesterday's testimony. I thought he came across a little self righteous - like that he was the only person who was going to do the "right thing" and talk to NSC counsel. I don't think his boss agreed with it, but he did it anyway. I've known people like this who were ready to fall on their sword to be right. I suspect that Vindman's career will be over after this. No one wants a person who cannot be trusted.
You know, when you go to a military course, they willl always bring in some General who will tell you not to be afraid to do the right thing, and speak truth to power. What they don't say is that most of the time, it willl end your career. It's one of those things that is a lot easier to say than to do, because most power doesn't want to hear the truth, they want you to be onboard with their thinking. As Vindman said, he is already being left out of meetings he would normally attend. I will bet that his next assignment will be in the bowels of the Army, far, far away.
