Because there is nothing to report.  Mueller is keeping the "investigation" going for political reasons.  But here comes Charlottesville and now they can parse every word of what Trump said, read between the lines of what he didn't say, and read the body language of everyone around him.  That's much more interesting than anything going on with the Russia investigation. 

Oh, and reporting on the fact that Ivanka and Jared were silent on the subject of the Neo-Nazi.

Today I found an outright lye being told by CNN.  They said that the Secret Service is going broke because of Trump and his family.  The truth is the Agency Director said that it wasn't because of Trump, but because of the overtime that has to be paid to the agents when they work past their 8 hour shift.  (I found it incredible that they were getting overtime, because so many civil service workers reguarly work overtime with no pay.)
