Since when don't military and civilians get Veteran's Day off? Did something change? Not sure who you are referring to, but I can't think of any time that I ever called in sick on the day before or the day after a holiday, nor did my colleagues. Take a day of annual? Yes, but not calling in sick. Not saying it's never done, but it certainly is not the norm. Perhaps you could explain your comment about that.
It's not likely that any of us are going to forget Pearl Harbor Day, any more than we're likely to forget September 11th, whether it's on some calendar or not.
It's entirely likely that Kroger's just bought calendars wholesale from a supplier and made no consious decision about leaving off Pearl Harbor Day or putting on Islamic New Year. But, for the sake of argument, what is wrong with listing an Islamic holiday on a calendar, since usually Jewish and Christian holidays are listed.
Y'all get spun up on the craziest stuff.
And Major, I can't imagine why you would object to having a Martin Luther King observation. Perhaps you'd like to explain that one because I'd sure like to hear your answer.
