April 1, 2017...Lake Moultrie, drifting a shallow flat (7-10 ft. deep) near deep water. 113.8 lb. blue bit a 3-4 iinch herring. It made 4 or 5 big runs in the 10-15 minute fight. The fish was 52 inches long with a 40 inch girth. it is 4 lbs. more than the previous state record. Caught on 30 lb. line and 7/0 hook, fish was caught from the lower end of Lake Moultrie.
