I have been following the Lake Lanier levels -- and the levels in the downstream Lakes -- for several days. There seems to be something wrong. The Lake Lanier levels are not rising significantly, and they are still 9 feet below Full. We can all see that the Lake is low.

In the last week we have had plenty of rain. Yet the water levels have not risen significantly. But the local newspaper tells its wonderful -- its gone up 2 inches!!!

Looking at the levels in the Lakes  downstream, the levels have gone up dramatically at West Point and Eufuala in the last few days. I had dinner on the River in Atlanta this evening. The river is very high -- almost washing away the trees on the side of the river. And the water is swirling like it is handling a released floodgate. So what is wrong with this picture? Can somebody please explain?
