I don't think Trump had his best moment in his trip to PR.  But, I agree with him in principle about PR.  The USG is doing everything it can to help them - but the island is deeply in debt (Trump said today that the banks will need for forgive $72M), the infrastructure of the island, i.e. roads, electrical grid, building codes were in disrepair when the storm hit, so it was no surprise the hurricane took them out.  I believe that PR believes we should rush in and rebuild their island for them.  Some of the stuff they have demanded was totally uncalled for - like the Navy hospital ship, which is supposed to provide hospital services to the military.  Right now, 99% of the hospitals in PR are up and running - so why do they need that?  FEMA is there in force, they've got the guy that directed things after Katrina, and they are just going to have to be patient.  Their problems will not be solved in two weeks, any more that the problems in Houston and Florida have been solved.  BTW, according to a news show I saw, they have having a hard time doing repairs to homes, because of a lack of skilled construction workers - carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons, because as well all know, the new generation thinks it is below them to learn a trade.  They would rather have desk jobs where they can complain how they are under utilized and not appreciated.

Trump should have gone there, told them how awful it is, told them that the USG would do everything it could, handed out some supplies and left.  But the press has been very unfair to Trump.  And don't forget the U.S. Virgin Islands were destroyed too, but so far they don't seem to be whining.
