I, and my trusty guide have made the trip several times and I highly recommend it.  It's beautiful scenery and the wild azaleas and cahaba lillies may be in bloom.  Take a camera in a waterproof bag, you'll probably see an eagle.  It's about 10 miles and takes about 4 hours.  There are multiple shoals to navigate.  I have used both a sit-on-top and enclosed kayak.  If the water level is low and they're not running water at Harris Dam, you may have to walk your boat through some spots.  We take out at Jaybird creek, it's right below the last long run of shoals, after that, it's flat water.  Trusty Guide and I are planning that trip Friday, depending on the weather.  If you need more info, email me.
