Hitting a moving target with 8 of 10 shots from 40 yards is excellent shooting at a gun range.....nothing short of miraculous given the circumstances. I have no doubt this guy practiced with his gun.....a lot. If not, he had divine guidance in stopping the shooter in 15 seconds. As for Uvalde, I have intentionally not gone beyond the headlines because it is far too disturbing to think that they left this guy alone in the room for so long. Both events in my view are prime cases to demonstrate the folly of gun control. When they tell us we should not defend ourselves but instead wait for "trained" police officers I will respond that the families of the Uvalde victims would disagree. When they say law abiding citizens carrying a weapon is a danger to others I will respond that those saved by the hero in Greenwood disagree.
I do have to admit one area of anxiety. While it was over quickly I have to wonder what might have happened had the police showed up right away. Would they have shot the wrong guy? I think that's a real possibility and am so glad it didn't happen.
