If you would do a little research yourself, you would know that the majority of students attending Ivy League schools receive substantial financial assistance. I know this firsthand. If a student qualifies for admission to Harvard and decides to go there, financial issues will not prevent them from doing so.

You'd lose that bet.

When someone makes a statement like this, it is almost universally the case that they perceive themselves to be financially successful and solely responsible for their financial status. In an earlier post you said:

"my classmates would have pushed both the BMW AND Jaguar over the hill because they wanted a RED BARCHETTA."

Which implies that you were born into money.

So which is it? Did you come from a poor family that you had to help support, work full time to pay your way to college (which BTW is no longer possible even at public schools), work your way up in your chosen profession from an entry-level job or internship, or did Daddy buy you a new car at 16, get you into college and jobs by pulling strings, etc.? It isn't both....

Most people with money did nothing to earn that money, e.g., the current generation of Waltons, Kochs, Bushes, Drumpfs, et al.

Most people who work hard in good faith never have a lot of money. Are you trying to say their accomplishments are not deserving of your respect?
